The Wapping Project

Now in its 11th year, The Wapping Project is celebrated for its singular combination of challenging contemporary art and performance, fine food and inspiring architecture.

The Wapping Project is housed in Wapping Hydraulic Power Station, on the north bank of the Thames. The modern architecture identifies with the beauty of the historic building, which dates back to 1890, and aims to create a backdrop against which artists can create audacious, contemporary work. All pieces are new, commissioned and site-specific, frequently touring internationally. The Wapping Project has achieved international cult status among architects, artists and lovers of great food alike.
