A creatively driven brand, Cirque du Soleil places live shows at its heart – 31 since its inception in 1984, seen by more than 100 million people worldwide. Each production has a unique concept and features handmade costumes, original music and state-of-the-art lighting. The Montréal-based company was founded by Guy Laliberté and a small band of itinerant street performers: accordionists, stilt walkers and fire-eaters. Today, it has 5,000 employees worldwide, including more than 1,300 performing artists.
